When driving roads, I often try to imagine them on bike. Usually, I’m wrong and the drive to Volcano is one where the length and climb seem herculean. However, on the bike, I found it more of a mental exercise because of the length of time on the bike than physical. It’s quite a distance, but none of the hills are overly steep. Mentally, a steady grade with potential rain, wind, and constant traffic makes it a worthy quest. A well-earned chili bowl or hot dog awaits in Volcano Village.
