Mountain Bike Mana Road from Waimea

Mountain biking Mana Road out-and-back from Waimea is another opportunity to experience stunning beauty with a challenging climb.

Mana Road is a four-wheel drive road that runs about 45 miles along the base of Mauna Kea around 5000-7000′ elevation.  My route here starts on Mana Road in Waimea, parking where the pavement ends and the 4 wheel drive road starts. The first part of the bike ride is frequented by dog walkers, runners, quads and horseback riders. Be prepared to yield right of way to any traffic. The last segment which approaches the first cabin has steeper, longer climbs. Once. you get to the cabin, the road levels out with a downward slope.
